One of the first sequels worth talking about, Warcraft 2 brought the RTS genre to my attention before I was cool enough to even refer to the genre by an acronym.
I’ve always wondered why would anyone would ever play as the Humans. Don’t we get enough reality as it is? I’m human now and I’m positive that there’s absolutely nothing special about it — no fireballs, no orcs at the gate, and no money.
Besides, being the Orcs let you pillage human settlements for both fun and profit; who wouldn’t want to do that!

how do u make it work?
hi,
very excited to play an old classic, but i have xp, and when i type the necessary stuff
into DOSBOX ending with “setup” the game starts but then makes a horrible noise and seems to freeze. what can i do?

Not sure — it worked a-ok for me. Maybe you could try redownloading the game? The only thing that comes to mind is a possible corrupted download.

I can’t get it to work…every time I run any of the .exe files the screen goes black and nothing happens…
What am I doing wrong?
I have no idea Damian. It might be your graphics settings, your gfx card, a corrupted download… I don’t know enough to provide any meaningful tech support.

Use DosBox to execute the file. If you mean the how to unpack the .rar, download TugZip. It’s free and awesome.
I downloaded WarCraft II from 2 separate sources. On both, I extracted the files and tried to run the main exe file (war, war2) through dosbox. The WarCraft game does start up. My problem is…. when it asks for single or multiplayer game, it does not allow me play a single player game without a CD. Should I try to copy these files onto a CD? OR is there an easier way to do this. On first try of copying files to CD, the data and driver files would not copy.
I also have the same problem with you.
If I running from the Dosbox, the game will ask for the CD to play a Single Player.
But If I’m not using the Dosbox, I can start a game on a single player. But in the middle of the game, suddenly the game closed…and it happend many many times….huh…i’m getting tired…it’s so disturbing..
Anyone can HELP us ??????
i tried doing this and following the dosbox wiki stuff, i have no clue what im doing. dos stuff was created before i was born. if you can help me out with this cause i am trying to get the warcraft games, casue ive only played world of warcraft and i want to play the origional warcrafts. if you can help me do this it would be great. email thecityofdavid@yahoo.com
